Prior to President Bush ever taking office, a blueprint was drawn up by the PNAC showing plans for the Bush Administration to take military control of the Persian Gulf region, regardless of whether or not Saddam Hussein was in power. This blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, was drawn up for Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush, and Lewis "Scooter" Libby. It was entitled Rebuilding Americas Defences: Strategies, Forces And Resources For A New Nation. The Council on Foreign Relations, which advises the White House on foreign policy had supplied enormous amounts of evidence showing clearly that the main supporter of al Qaida was Saudi Arabia. So why did the United States invade Afghanistan and Iraq?

Don't forget that Bush and Cheney are both Texas oilmen. Cheney was the CEO at Halliburton from 1995 to 2000 when he resigned to run for Vice President.  Coincidently, Halliburton was on the scene when the United States invaded Iraq,  having won a no-bid contract to extinguish oil fires. In addition, the Bush Dynasty has deep financial ties with the Saudi royal family. Iraq is known to be the world's second greatest source of oil. By invading Iraq, Bush knocked out Saudi Arabia's largest competitor, allowing oil prices to sky rocket.

In 1998, an e-mail memo was found in a computer seized by the FBI during its investigation into the 1998 African embassy bombings, which were sponsored by al-Qaida. The memo revealed that Osama bin Laden's group had detailed knowledge of negotiations taking place between Afghanistan's ruling Taliban and American government and business leaders over plans for a U.S. oil and gas pipeline across Aghanistan. This memo was discovered by FBI counter-terrorism expert John O'Neill, who left the bureau in 2001, complaining of U.S. oil interests hindering his investigation into al-Qaida. Coincidently, John O'Neill, who became security chief at the World Trade Center, died in the September 11 attack.

There have been plans for laying pipeline through Afghanistan since the 1980's, but the plans have been held up by political situations. There needed to be a regime change in Afghanistan before the plans could be carried out. Though the invasion of Afghanistan has not established any peace up to now, the Bush Regime managed to clear way for pipelines.
